The most worn area is the cutting edge of the bucket teeth, located at the bottom front edge of the bucket. This means that the cutting edge needs to be replaced when it starts to wear. Also known as “bucket wear inserts”, the cutting edges can be made from a range of different grades of steel. The recommended hardness of the inserts is actually 400 to 500 HB, which will maximize the time before they need to be replaced again and fully protect the bucket. Most blades are held in place with bolt-on wear inserts, which is something to keep in mind when securing them.
To check the wear blade, you must ensure that it has not worn back into the bucket teeth. You must allow enough time for replacement parts to arrive, as inserts usually take two to three weeks to manufacture. You will find that the same problem applies to other types of machines as well.
